Renal cortical necrosis in an infant.

چکیده
changes here described from the appearance of secondary neoplasm, particularly neuroblastoma, may be difficult, and the diagnosis may only become clear with evolution of more typical radiological appearances. Eversole, Holman, and Robinson in 1957 described focal resorption of cortical bone as an early microscopical feature in the evolution of infantile cortical hyperostosis. The relative vascularity and the thinness of the cortical bone of the skull vault may be the reason why this histological change has not until recently been reported radiologically.

مقایسه یافته های اسکن DMSA و VCUG یا (Dimercaptosuccinic acid & Voiding cystourethrographic) در عفونت ادراری، بیمارستان بهرامی، 77-1374
Acute Pyelonephritis (APN) is one of the most common bacterial infections seen in children that may lead to renal scarring. Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is an important risk factor of renal damage but not the only one. Materials and Methods: In order to determine the association between dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) scintigraphic and voiding cystourethrographic findings, a retrospective study w...

Case Report: The patient was a one-month-old infant who admitted to the hospital with seizure. After physical examination, it was revealed that the left thigh had an extensive skin necrosis due to burn. After the debridement of the lesion, due ...
متن کاملSpectrum of renal cortical necrosis in acute renal failure in eastern India.
Renal cortical necrosis is an uncommon cause of acute renal failure. We report 23 cases of biopsy-proven renal cortical necrosis which constituted 6.3% (23/363) of all cases of acute renal failure studied over a period of seven years (1985-92). The patients were divided into two groups: obstetric and non-obstetric. Obstetric complications were responsible for renal cortical necrosis in 15 (65.2...
متن کاملCortical laminar necrosis caused by critically increased intracranial pressure in an infant: case report.
A 3-month-old boy presented with critically elevated intracranial pressure (ICP) due to bilateral subdural hematomas, which resulted in diffuse cortical laminar necrosis, manifesting as a 1-week history of appetite loss, fever, and intermittent seizure. Initial computed tomography revealed bilateral subdural fluid collections. Burr hole drainage was carried out to control the ICP. T(1)-weighted...
متن کاملSnakebite Induced Thrombotic Microangiopathy Leading to Renal Cortical Necrosis
Renal complications from snakebite result in high mortality and morbidity. Acute kidney injury (AKI) occurs in 5-30% of cases. Renal manifestation could include acute tubular necrosis, cortical necrosis, interstitial nephritis, glomerulonephritis, and vasculitis. We present a case of thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) resulting in renal cortical necrosis. Renal biopsy showed fibrin thrombi in glo...
